    Hey guys,
Just a little over two months and I've spotted Red Slime. I've done a 10% water change and then cleaned out the slime by hand while the Percula was hitting my hand repeatedly. Anyway, I decided to buy the Red Slime remover by UltraLife and followed the instructions to the tee. I'm connecting my protein skimmer again and it's going hog wild. The skimmer fills up in 30 mins at it's lowest setting. Am I missing something here or should I wait longer for the protein skimmer to be turned on? I'ts been 48 hours.
    Thanks

This is a common thing with the various red slime products. Just give it more time.

I had the same thing on one of my rocks, I was picking at it with hemostat's ans ended up just pulling the rock out and scrubbing it

I've already scrubbed the rock and it's working but the sand didn't. About how much longer before I can turn on the skimmer you think? It's a 28g nano cube

red slime is a result of poor water quality and/or lack of flow. just point a powerhead at the troublesome areas

It's very common in new tanks.

I guess I'll stop going to the fish store. Those tanks are perfect and that's what I want. hahahaha
