    Manny,
If you used a product like chemi-clean to kill off your red slime, it causes your skimmer to go crazy. Did you do a water change yet? It will take a while for the bubbles to go away from what I have read...

Manny, next time if it is a mild outbreak--try something like Kent's poly-ox as well as trying to keep the tank as dark as possible for 24-30 hours at a time.

Just a thought as I had to battle with red slime that would just coat everything--yuck. It took quite a while--but I think I just might have it licked (I say that with my fingers crossed and saying my prayers).

    Manny,
We had a discussion thread about the microbubbles in the skimmer section.
The SeaClone and other verturi skimmers seem especially sensitive to additives in the water. Skimmers that use other methods don't seem to have this problem.

I would not go more than 48 hours.

    Manny,
You could just turn off the skimmer for a day or so, then turn it back on and see how bad the microbubbles are.
Alternatively, if you have a venturi-type skimmer, turn the air input on high (minimizing the flow of water) and after a couple of days, reset it.

    Manny,

Just went through the same thing I used Chemi-Clean and my skimmer went nuts. The issue is that even though you are doing water changes the chemical is still in your skimmer. Take it apart and wash is out throughly. along with your pumps. I did this and a 20gal water change and it was fine from there. No micro bubble, no cyno and my tank is now on 2 months w/o a water change and my levels are perfect, not saying this is what you should do as far as the water change but i am trying something out.

Good luck on the skimmer issue, PM me if you need any assistance.
