RSR and Chemi-clean both will make your skimmer go nuts. Both of these are also antibiotics. They are great the first time...sometimes the second time...but after a few uses (and I hope no one keeps getting cyano because its so ugly) it looses its effect. You end up doing bigger doses etc. Basically the cyano will grow a tolerance to it...making it ineffective.

FWIW it works really well the first time. And you should make sure it doesnt come back again by adding more flow, a fuge, cutting down on feedings (if you are overfeeding), etc.
