I picked up a Red Sponge today and one more really strange looking item that I believe is a Sponge. If you have a name for them and some info it would be great. Even just a name so I can read on them. light placement flow and stuff. Thank you all for your time. Sorry I forgot the pic's between taking care of my Kid's and ColdShot I am covered up. The red one is a red chili coral,it is a part of the sponge family, they are totaly filter feeders(and require spot feeding once or twice a week when the feeder tenticles are out(usually nocturnal)but very neat to see,he will suckup a bunch of water, grow to 3 times that size and has a bunch of filter feeding hands that come out. This sponge coral cannot touch air at all!!! And requires no light, actually doesnt care for light,a shady spot is best.In nature they grow upside down in caves!! Here's mine open and feeding. the 2nd one, sorry,IDK

Bummer, They are beautiful Animal's but I was assuming from the LFS it was a Sponge and didnt require any special attention. What do you feed it? Will it live out in the open or do I have to move my gloves to put him in the shade? Thank you very much for your time.

I've had him for about 6 months now, they are slow growers, but i find mine open alot in the early morning when i get up for work, but sometimes he comes out in broad daylight,he is in a shaded corner(i only have pc's over a 29 gallon)but still gets some light(doesn't seam to bother him)i'll usually spot feed him when i catch him in the daytime.I feed phytoplanton(about $10 at lps, last for a couple months)with an eyedropper once a week, and also mash soft brine pellets in the water(mush it to practicaly dust)and let it snow for a while(my other filter feeders zoas and palys seam to like it)and once in a while i'll feed live brine larvae
