Can someone ID this? Is it reef safe?

From google, it seems like what I have is Fromia, and it suppose to be reef safe. Unfortunately I didn't do long acclimate - just a usual standard 30 minutes drip. Ouch.

I believe that your ID of a Fromia is correct. My understanding is that they do better that a Linkia but success with starfish seems to be a mixed bag at best. Perhaps others can chime in, but many people seem to have difficulty keeping these types of stars alive for more than a year due to difficulty meeting their nutritional requirements....particularly since there is not much information as to what those requirements actually are.

    +1 to all this.

We know they like film algae and certain sponges, but there's not a full understanding of diet.
