Red sticks on rocks

    There are these red tube things all over my rocks. They are about 1 centimeter long and thin. I think they are vermetid snails but I never seen the webs that come out of their mouths to feed. This is the best pic u could get of them with my iPhone

    Yup, they're V. Snails, its not a web so much as it is a long strand of sticky mucus. Some people let them be, I personally get rid of them and they can bother corals.

    Ah ok thanks. Since its just a predator tank with no corals I think I'll just leave them be. Thanks again for the quick reply.

    Your critters are probably actually Chaetoplerid tube worms rather than Vermetid gastropods, altho they generally get lumped together by many folks in terms if ID. They stay small, and generally aren't a bother, esp. since you're running a FOWLR setup.

    What preds are you keeping?

    I'm with Greg on this one. I generally let them be, the more natural filtration, the better.

    Those are really cool. Had a few in my old 72bf and after a long day of filtering you can really see all the bits they reel in.
