I have searched all over to find ways of getting rid of my red turf algae. Im at a loss here on ways to get rid of it. Is there anyone else on here who has beat this pest. It says it thrives in clean water conditions thats what I have right now. I have tried lowering the light times, Mexican turbo's nothing seems to work for me. God there has to be something im missing here but im ready to empty the tank and nuke everything and start over.

    Any Idea's>?

Ill see if I can get some pic's in here so you can see this nasty stuff and how it has taken over my rock. Its really pretty color but I prefer no algae if ya know what i mean

Seems Turbo Snails, Emerald Crabs and Long Spine Urchins are about the only things that will eat this stuff.

Yea I was reading that was wondering what caused the problem so I can get to the root of the cause. I plan on getting a few urchins to combat the problem. But yet this is a bandaid what I really would love to see is a solution for removing what is feeding it. I have employed a bio pellet reactor and it is now at the 4 week stage so will see if that helps. From what I have read It thrives in low or high nutriant tanks so how would one combat this problem. I have even thought of buying new rock but that I think would cause a new cycle and I cant do that with my fish and corals in there. Would getting an urchin ect. Cure this problem or would it just come back?

Really its driving me absolutly F------ insane trying to figure it out.
