hello, I have a 28g nano cube that has been running for about 10 months now. its been doing great but over the last few months I have noticed a lot of red wiry turf algae all over my tank. Its been getting big and its been a real problem lately so i need to get rid of it.

Anyone know any good fish or livestock that can take care of this problem.
I bought an emerald crab today hoping that will do the job.

I have had turbos in the past but they always seem to flip over and die

If this is the same stuff I saw a thread about a while ago, I believe yellow tangs were one persons solution for this type of algae. I'm going to look up the thread, that way you can have a person to ask directly. Do you have any pictures of it to confirm the alga type?

Mexian Turbos have too collection areas. One is subtropical and the ones collected from here tend to die above 80 degrees or so. Also, turbos can be sensitive to magnesium, not sure if you have high mg levels? Additionally there are some parasites that can kill them. Probably one of these reasons. I've had good luck with ones ordered from from Live-Aquaria, and an LFS (LA is probably more useful to you though as I live nowhere near you LOL). I typically keep my tank around 82ish and have some that are years old.

I have had that red turf alage in my tank and still have a little bit. The one cleaner that I added that destroys it was a Pincushion urchin. he mauled that stuff.

Sounds like Turbos and the emerald are the ticket. Perhaps if you get some snails in there they will serve for simply removing the algae before they die....lol Good luck
