    I'm digging the barnacles. Those things are awesome. I would like to get some for my tank, I think my animals would like that too.

    We have been making alot of aragocrete lately and experimenting with several recipes. I have high hopes--they are starting to come out of the moulds looking very cool.

    Stepho;

    I got the barnacles years ago and the smaller fish have always loved them. My mother and law had picked them up for me when I first got into the hobby when I lived up North. She got them from the Shell Factory which is located in Ft. Myers. I went to their website but the shop online portion is not working at this time. Seashells, Coral, Seashells for Crafts, Seashells for Decorations, Seashell Christmas Decorations, Purchase Seashells at The Shell Factory And Nature Park in North Fort Myers, Florida They had alot of ornamental shells. I had a nice nautilus shell which broke down over time. My Marine Betta loved that thing. Hopefully they will get their site working for you to check out.

    Update. I took some of the previous suggestions and returned 5 of the damsels and kept only one. I purchased 30 lbs fiji LR did some cleaning and soaked them in bucket of water I removed from tank.

    One question: I had read somewhere to leave lights off for week or two to help reduce any algae explosion. What are you opinions on this?

    Pictures. I am sure I will rearrange a little more as the days go by. Also need to add some more base rock but got to keep the spending on the low down so the wife does not go crazy.

    I personally would leave the lights off through out the cycle. Your tank doesnt need it to complete the cycle. It will only create unwanted algae in your tank. Luna

    Lighting is not required when in the cycling stage. It only promotes the algae growth.
    EDIT: What luna said.8)

    The MAX manual provides a detailed guide as to how we recommend you should cycle the tank, including how to progress the photoperiod during the cycling stage. Might be worth a read.
