Honestly, I think you can do better with a little research and putting together a good tank yourself. For the money you spend on these all-in-ones, you can get some really, really good equipement that, IMO, will last a lot longer and give you a more healthy ecosystem.

Depends on what one you are looking at.. 130D is around 800.00 and the 250 is between 1400.00 to 1500.00.

Ask around at your lfs. In Florida I have run by a couple LFS that have had both but they can't keep them in stock.

I have a 130D and it is nice but there are definitely a couple draw backs. Skimmer is decent, tank looks great, lights are sufficient about 3.6 watts per gallon . The heater does not seem to keep my tank at a consistant temp, always up and down. With the cold weather(I know in Florida ha ha..was 30 a couple mornings last week) the tank temp really dropped at night..about 6+ degrees. So I think I need to upgrade the heater. I also am not a fan of the pump placement. They Bio-glass media (for the mechanical and biological filtration is bagged) and the Carbon (bagged.. I took this out after a couple weeks as I don't like to leave carbon in) are located in the same chamber as the pumps which feed through the back chamber area into the tank. So in order to get the filtration media out you need to remove the pumps.

If you are going to buy one you need to see it up and running so you can really make a educated decision. Not on the web.

I will say that this tank will end up being mainly a reef tank once I get the 125+ I am looking for.

Do yourself a favor and look for tanks on craigslist.. You will save a bundle and depending on what you find, people sell them with the many upgrades they put in, plus the LR, Corals etc...

In the end it really comes down to what you want and Red Sea is a decent company with many good products.;)

    I hope this helps
