Thinking about buying reef breeders led fixture. Going between the bridgelux 120 watt version, or the 72 watt cree value 2 channel. Its going to be for a 75 gallon mostly lps, softys, a couple sps like 3 or 4 sps.. Not sure wich fixture i should get. If i get the bridgelux should i add optics and dimming? I will need 2 fixtures for a 75 gallon correct? I want to be able to dusk/dawn effect and not fry my lps. Any help appreciated thanks=)::)

With either the 120 watt, or 72 watt value fixtures, you will need 2 for that tank. We also have a new value fixture coming out that you can pre-order, it is $249 with a full heatsink, and 90 degree optics, you will also need 2 of those. With either fixture, you can keep sps anywhere you want, most users typically start at 10% power, than slowly ramp the fixtures up over the next few months to about 75% power. As for reviews, I am sure a couple users will chime in.

So the 120 watt bridgelux for 189 would probaly be what im looking for. Just dont put it at 100% for lps and softys? Need to research what the optics do but if I need the optics the cree fixture would probaly be the best bet?

Either one with optics would work. Just turn them down a little, and you will be fine.

def, i purchased the bridgelux and very satisfied so far. Cree would only make a good product better. Def agree 2 fixtures would be best for a 4' tank, i'm pulling it off currently with 1, no optics, and about 13'' off the surface. Problem is, there's a good amount of bleed over onto the floor/walls, pretty sure i'm killing the par value to some extent, not sure how much, and i will have to deal with the middle brace and a somewhat slight diminished lighting to the edges which is why i have it mounted so high. Personally for me right now it's perfect... couldn't afford to fork out the 400 for 2 units, didn't want to dump money needlessly into new bulbs to replace my aging ones, and i think this compares or will compare once i get it ramped up all the way to my 2 bulb VHO outfit. So far the only SPS i have is a monti cap about mid way in the tank and it seems to be doing fine so far. Coming up on 2 weeks so it's still a bit early but i've seen no signs of stress/bleaching, all the corals look amazing! I even fell in love with a zoa that i absolutely hated before getting this light! Made that much of a difference. If you have the money to toss in the meanwell drivers now i would, definitely would be nice to attach these to a controller for dusk/dawn effects but again, money and equip i don't currently have. My theory was, this will make a wonderful frag light someday down the road after i have the money to upgrade again...

How do u like the look? What do they look like? 14k etc. the 2 channel Cree seems to be a great deal. I plan on hanging about 3 inches above tank so hopefully won't light my whole front room. A timer from hd would be able to controll dusk/dawn right? New to led stuff.. Been using t-5 for years. Lol. Seems everybody likes these lights)
