Wow, at least you can save on lighting now. That thing is a beast. Any lighting ideas? AIs at 400 a pop are not that bad, 8 would light that puppy (or should I say fully grown doberman) up I think. Are you going with a canopy?

This is going full DIY. I am getting a 275 Diy LED kit with heat sinks.

You must really like soldering LOL
So I'm assuming heatsinks will be 3X4 each then? How many drivers is that? Will you control them with the VDM from the neptune?

Heat sinks will be 28 x 10 with 45 leds so it will be about 6 heatsinks, 12 dimmible and a canopy

With a closed loop, I would put two drains/strainers in the rock work to pull the water through the rocks. This helps keep the rocks clean. Then put two returns up from the sand in the back, two in the front corners (can be hidden by small rockwork), and either one or two on the back wall. Buy a 6 way oceans motion or a 4 way. Use these as the output on the back walls for the closed loop pump and return. You will be able to direct flow while keeping a minimal footprint.

As for GPH, what do you plan on keeping?

You don't need multiple OMs. Just one.

I think he said it would be a mixed reef, with a focus on SPS and LPS corals.

You mean coral wise? It will be a mixed reef with some of everything within reason. Thanks for the parts suggestion also.
