    Can someone chime in on this, I've been told that the rock like what you found containing yellow and gold coloring will slowly leach phosphate. Was that previously in a tank set up? or was it laying outside?

    Both. It was in a tank until he broke it down and had it outside. It's not testing for phosphates now.

    Cool, I was looking into getting some rock like that but was given warning by a long time reefer that the yellow bands like that contain and leach phosphate. If it's been cured already then you got a great score, congrats bro. ;D

    you could always do a 10 minute dip in water and muriatic acid (20-1) to remove phosphates from the rock surface just in case before you cure it
