If you guys want to see a good completely closed loop system I will take pictures of the display tank at my LFS. They have a system very close to what ReefBruh is making on display. It is a 400g display tank with two 125g long sump/refuge under it. The entire system is closed loop with a single return pump. Let me know via PM that way we are not wasting space on Bruh's thread. Bruh if you would like me to post the pictures here let me know and I will do it. If not I will create a new thread and just put a link here for it.

Also, I love what I have read so far and can't wait to see more. I have subscribed to this I hope everything works out great for you. I wish I was near and could offer some help, but I am not.

Very true. I might later add a frag grow out tank in the far future.

Well my intentions was to build the same tank except it was going to be a foot shorter. Now I am saving with half the cost and a foot longer tank.

In regards to water movement, I'm sure you've thought it out, and really, you should go with whatever you believe in, because that will have the greatest success.

An offhand thought, has anyone thought about or tried to incorporate a wavepool type action to a large reef? Like those wavepools at the waterpark? I believe they are caused by one of two methods. Either a false wall moving back and forth (ie, a plunger), or pumping water into holding tanks and then releasing the water all at once.

When I took a "behind the scene" tour at the Atlanta Aquarium, they had something similar to the second method incorperated on their 200,000 gallon reef. It was quite a spectacle, and made for some great natural wave motion.

Not sure if it's ever been tried in a home aquarium, just thinking outloud as I'm reading through this thread.
