+1; was wondering how you were going to do that. Are you running a conduit from under the tank up to the lights for the controller wiring, or in a raceway on the floor and then up through the wall? Or, getting fixtures that have timer/controller built in?

The electrical will be dropped from the ceiling. Two 20 amp circuits will stay in the ceiling for lights and powerhead controllers. Two more 20 amp circuits will run theough a dry chamber and provide power to equipment under the tank. My lights will either have their own controller or run off the main controller.

I hope that explains what I'm doin better.

Would this be a conduit or PVC pipe that runs down through an overflow or something like that?

IMO, your stand looks good as it is. Nearly all of the weight is on the four corners, the members in the center are not really needed. The stand for my 300 has nothing in the center, and the 2x12's are way overkill. Keeping everything in the same plane is extremely important to prevent twist. Here's a picture for comparison. I used the same Rocketman design.

But thats for glass right Jerry? When reading up on stand designs I though I heard Arylic were different. I remember reading you should put a 3/4 plywood sheet over the stand /shrug

Yep, you're right. Should have said the center does not support as much weight. Most of the weight is still on the corners of the stand itself, so as far as supporting the weight, it's more than enough. Rocketman's design a very good one and anything more than what he recommends is not necessary, but doesn't hurt. Most of the tank failures that I've seen were from the stand being out of plane, not being under built.

That should work depending on how you are going to control the lights. Shame there has to be something sticking out the middle of your tank though. Is this on a slab (the floor that is. ..)?
