    Plumbing Idea/Input

Today is the day I go in for my procedure. :party014::balloon2::party014::balloon2::party014::balloon2: I had a plumbing question to pass along to everyone so once I recover I would have some input from fellow reefers. I have decided to go with 4 sea swirls as returns for my tank. I would like to get about 1000 gallons per hour coming out of each sea swirl.

What size pump/pumps would I need to accomplish my requirement from to after all the plumbing leading to the sea swirls? Here is a schematic drawing as reference. Oh yea, I am using the 1" sea swirls.

Is that pitchfork type layout what will really happen or will there be additional bends that would stager those out?

Will probably need to know the full height from pump position to top too.

Here's to praying everything goes smooth and well. Little pain and speedy recovery.

From pump to that first tee is about 48 inches. From pump to top of tank is 66 inches.

    Thanks.

Pitchfork? Yea that's pretty much it. Might use either a sweep 90 or two 45s from pump to first tee off.

If it were me, I'd use a pair of pumps. Reeflo makes good ones. I have a barracuda I love. 2,8 amp draw

I think you would be better off using 2 pumps as well. I think it would give you better control and flow.

Good luck with your surgery. Will be praying for a speed recovery.

Thank raven. I see that's the most popular idea.

    How's your setup doing?
