Second phase took place today. Once I got the tank to around 77 degrees I added 400 gallons of salt to the tank. I am going to monitor salinity after 24 hours to know rather to add anymore or take some out and add RO/DI water. I think I should be good.

DBO if you only knew. I couldn't sleep the night before the tank was delivered and I couldn't sleep while it was filling up. I was jumping out of shoes and everything else I cannot say on this kid friendly forum.

    UPDATE!!!! and Bad New(Maybe)

I added 60 more gallons of salt earlier today and the salinity checked out at 1.023. Sump is still about an 1-2 inches above operating level so I will check again after evaporation.

:cry::cry: On a sad note, I think I might have to plumb the drains over again on the tank. Here is the problem I am speaking of.

Since the taking of this picture I placed caps on top of the tees and drilled holes on top of each one. Maybe if i drill bigger holes will that eliminate the pressure? But when I placed both pumps on full blast and opened the drains full blast, that's when I was getting the Las Vegas effect coming out the top of the tees.

Also I was under the assumption that a 2" drain was able to accommodate 3000-3500 GPH thus the reason I checked both pumps down.

Any ideas would be great. I really dont want to spend more money plumbing the tank but if I have to I will.

this is a crazy project that makes me drool every time i see it. i have been thinking about upgrading to a 260 gallon but I'm afraid my floor won't hold the weight. (basement under my current set up).

just out of curiosity how much does this system weigh? with rocks, sand, water, stand and equipment you must almost reach 2 and a half tons no?

A gallon of water wieghs in at about 8.5 lbs I believe in earlier post it should be about 600 gal with sump so about 5100lbs so almost 2 1/2 tons in just water wieght not including wieght of salt used.. So add about 50ish lbs. then rock. 200lbs ish.. I am purly guessing total setup ehhh 5,500 lbs.

Quick thinking here ....My Full Sized truck doesnt wieght this much.. LOL holy.... %^$#@

again Reffbro cant get ya better numbers but thats my guess.

Am guessing here Your pic wont show up on my work comp (it's Amish built...).. But if you are having water comming out the top of your tee's maybe extend the tee's Higher a few more inches and see if it will help. Dry fit it first it may leak a bit but at least this way you can see if it may make a Differance. Then glue it down once your happy. Or even Go from a 2" to maybe a 3" Diameter extend it a few inches on top of the tee.. Then cap the top of the 3"...?? then drill air hole..

    Just my $.02

    Hope this helps..
