you may also consider putting a tube in the hole so you can adjust it up or down.

Glad you chipped in. That's what I'm going to do. Another question. If the feed pump for my skimmer is 1300 GPH, what should the sump volume should be? 4-5 times my tank volume?

That scapes gonna look good covered with various corals, nice work.

I've been moving non-weight bearing basement walls to accomodate my 6ft 125g/currently my DT, so it will become the sump for my 180.

Matters NOT IMO. so long as your sump can hold the equipment in it that it needs to, and can handle the drawdown in a power outage, you are good to go. I shooot for 8-10x TURNOVER thru the sump.

so, kill power and see if it overflows. if not, then roll with it.

Ummmmm... OK. I see our issue. I had not opened the photo yet. so I didnt know where you were talking. so, Why again do you have this T on each Drain? I have never had to use one. do you have a durso or hofer up top for sound elimination?

Thanks Todd. I get the best of both worlds with great coral growth and swimming space for the fish.

I basically tried something different and instead of placing the durso in the overflow box, I placed it on top of the drain section of the sump.
