Thanks. I have also added a calcium reactor to the system also. It's a Schuran Jetstream1. So now it's just a matter of dialing it in to get my parameters in line.

 

So the frag tank has been up and running for a week. Even though it's tied into my DT should I be getting diatoms?



I really don't understand. Blues are on for 10 hours and whites on for 4 hours. Glad I added the cleanup crew before this.

My guess would be that perhaps the rock in the frag tanks has some silicates they are leaching. If I recall correctly, this is a system that has never been run before, correct? If so, I'd think it is just going through the typical diatom bloom/die off. JMO though...

 

This tank was running but the original owner started getting hair algae only because he traveled alot and the lights stayed on longer than normal. So when he tore the tank down her bleached the rocks and then did muriatic acid to kill the unwanted algae. So maybe I might be getting the after affects. But i personally fresh water tested and ran the tank and used prime to get rid of the leftover bleach smell it had.

Just three. The QT/HT, the DT, and the FT that is tied into the DT.

 

Sunday was the three month anniversary for my tank. I am finally beating the battle with phosphates as they read .08 ppms and my nitrates are around 2-5 ppms which i will keep them at to keep phosphates in check. So here is a video and I hope you enjoy.
