Yea. I know. I need to just go get one. Always worried about their longevity. But the seem to be very popular these days.

Well like most aquaculture corals the frags have a better history than wild caught.

UPDATE!!!!! Every time I come to my build thread it's never good.

So I'm going to play a game with everyone and if you can solve the puzzle then I know you're a true reefer. Ok. Here's the situation.

    Tested my water this weekend.

    Calcium - 400 ppm

    Magnesium - 1200 ppm

    Alkalinity - 5.8 dKh

    Nitrate - .25

    Phosphate - .11 ppm

Here's the kicker. I've went from 10 Dispar Anthias and Lyretails Anthias to one Dispar and 3 Lyretails. Can you guess why this happened?

Strictly a guess here. I'm saying your alkalinity, magnesium is low. Nitrates a little high but not too bad same with phosphates. Your nitrates killed your fish.

My nitrates are .25. That couldn't have done that. Besides I like my water a lil dirty to control phosphates.

So you're inferring that water chemistry played a role in the demise of your Anthias?

If not then logically disease so I would want to know how quickly the fish dead, over what span of time, the last time you added any fish?

For chemistry are you using a Ca reactor, when was the last time you tested, did it drift down or was it a significant swing over a short period?

All equipment malfunctions have been ruled out?

Ok. Here's what happened. First of all it's sorta my fault. I don't have a ph meter in my calcium reactor. The alk is low due to adding to much co2 to my reactor. But I had it on it's lowest setting. The calc reactor clogged up and co2 was being added to the tank thus depletion the o2 in the tank.

I am still curious did they die within a short time span?

So they suffocated? Sorry for your loss.:( Still learning ;) Need to be a chemist to keep these parameters in check.
