Anything after the 2k? If not you might see if there is a polishing compound. I know on automotive stuff, you sand down and then buff everything out with compound.

Are you buffing by hand or with a power buffer? What you need is a variable speed automotive buffer. If you have it sanded down to 2000 then it will buff out. By hand, well I don't think it's possible. Looking better though!

I think I will go back to the 1200 again since its a light haze and then do the 2000. I thought I messed myself up after I put the buffing compound on later.

Thats what I used. I got it from an automotive supplier. It was this:

I think I should have used it after the 2000 grit instead of right after the 800 grit.

I used an automotive buffer. I think I will do what I told Bobo and see what happens from there. Thanks it is looking better.

Definitely make the compounding the last thing you do. It's a tedious task, but you'll get there. Good luck!!

You should have seen me the first time I buffed out a car. I didn't think I would ever be done. Sounds repetitive, but just take your time. You will get a feel for it and before you know it, you'll be done.

    LED DIY Heatsink

I'm going to take a break from the tank. The bending and sanding has caught up with me. So to take my mind off I decided to get the heatsinks made for my LEDs. The heatsink is 28"L x 10"W and will hold 45 LEDs. I went to a metal factory and saw the aluminum C channels and had him cut them to size. I put 1/4 in spacers in between for circulation and drilled them into place. Now I just need to make the canopy to house them and the drivers in. I will give you the quick version.

    Equals this:

One down, five more to go.
