    A Real New Tank Build......Maybe

Well as I told Bobo, I am having my tank fully inspected Friday as I still have some sort of noticeable hazing. The guy will do a section and tell me if it can be saved. If so, then he will be taking the tank with him to his place and work on it at his convenience. He said it might take up to 2 months to finish. If not then a new tank will be in the works so an update will be posted this weekend.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a new tank at this point? 1600 and 2 months? You could have one custom built in less time just not sure on the price difference.

If I buy the acrylic myself I am looking at about $1500. If I have it built it will be about $2000. Only problem is I already have close to $1000 invested($600 for the tank, $300+ in tools, sandpaper, Weldon 4 and 16, and other miscellaneous things).

I wonder how do I add a survey to get everyone's opinion on what I should do?

Thats a tuff call there bruh... im not sure what id do. maybe you could bite your losses, and sell the tank for what you got it for. and list the work that has gone on with it. that way you could just wipe the slate clean, and get going on something else. For 1600 dollar repair, thats a lot to me imo. That money could well aid in the fabrication of a new one + the money from this tank. I have no idea how much acrylic tanks run, but i think 2000+ should get you something gnarly.

I know the work thats gone in this, and its a tough part, but i believe a tank that doesnt have any problems is worth the investment now before you end up sinking more money into a lost cause, that might not look as good as a spanking new one.

You could always buy a née tank and keep the one you have for a frag tank in a basement or sump lol. It would a little more water volume than your planned sump...OK a little more than a little lol. But I do agree with Snookn in that for a little bit more money you could have a brand new tank over one that may not look as good.
