I have been going back and forth on that idea. Powerman and I have been going back and forth on that idea. I'll know or decide when the tank is done.

The sump looks great. Good job, Reefbruh. Can't wait for more updates.

I like the idea of the Vortech pumps with a closed loop; could you just have the Vortechs on one end so they don't stick out from the tank though? With a peninsula tank and 3 viewing panels, I think dry side assembly will be more distracting (sticking out) than if it was just 1 viewing panel. So I would personally try to keep equipment off those sides if you can.

I know what you're getting at and that's the look I'm wanting to achieve. Still planning this out.

The only thing I have not done is talk to Vortech... I have and they are super helpful, just not on this subject. I would have to talk to them about what would be best for a 7 foot tank... two 4x40s or 2x60s.. I have wanted to talk to them about gyres and if they have any experience with that from customers tanks.

I'm sure they have experience with peninsulas and what are some good configurations for running them. I woul dcertainly talk to them about ideas before making up my mind.. I personally just have not got there yet.

Here is a video of that tank I was talking about. 8x40s in a 1200g reef.
Vortech pumps push a large gyre in a 1200 stony coral reef - YouTube

The tank is well documented on reef builders.. it's in Colorado and a little famous so to speak. Sure there is more out there on it, but I have to go...

Since my tank is only 24" high I might just go with 4 MP40s. I have seen that video before.

Mixed. Hopefully 50% SPS, 50% LPS and soft corals.

Say, if pumps are only on one end you could have the sps by the pumps and softies on the opposite end.

True. But I will probably have like 6 Sea Swirls so that should cover me having SPS all across the top.
