If your stand is going to have a cabinet door finish, (and I am going to balk on going back and re-reading the last 80 pages to figure it out:)), I have seen in cabinetry, where the center panel of a panel door has been replaced with matching speaker-grill cloth as opposed to wood. Assuming the stand is dark brown or black, you could easily hide/disguise a door or two. I saw an air conditioner return hidden in a book case this way in a high-end home.

Another thought, again assuming a panel door look, you might use louvered doors or plantation blinds.

Then again, you could be going with a high-tech glass and chrome look, which would make all of my advice worth what you paid for it. So here is an alternate idea. If You are having a chrome/metal wrapped stand you could have louvers stamped in the doors like the hood of a Ferrari. The price of a tank like this and the Ferrari being about the same, it could be an appropriate touch.;D

I never thought about a screen incorporated into the stand. Actually I was having a foam skim built around the stand and canopy so somehow I can add that in the build. Thanks for the idea and your input. You have opened my eyes to another idea and option. Thanks.

Can you post pics of your stand again? I looked back through and saw some of the building process but what I think was completed (structurally) weren't showing up.

    For Malac0da13

This is the present stand that I have now.

Depending on the estimate on the stand in post #767, I may have to modify this one to accommodate my skimmer and make the stand 46" tall which will put the top of the tank at around 70 - 72 inches.

Hrmm...because of the massiveness of you tank its hard to judge scale but would it be possible to put a hole right in the middle of the overflow that you could attach an acrylic tube to? That way you could attach a fan to it on the under side of the stand and use it like a chimney. You would probably need to still put little vents on either short side as like an intake to the tank too though.

    Black Tang Down

I was feeding my tank this morning and noticed that my Black Tang refused the food and went hiding. I come back about 10 minutes later and he was down on his side. No visible infections or signs of ich. I caught him and acclimated him into my hospital tank. He is swimming off and on but mostly laying on his side. I have had him for close to three years and I don't know how long he was with the previous owner. Maybe it is his time. I'll just have to wait it out.
