Fix them. I was told not to use acrylic to cover the holes. I don't know why but I might test that theory.

I know you have heard this phrase before and its called the K.I.S.S. method. As long as I follow that theory there should be no stress involved unless I go overboard.

I kind of like that manifold idea. Sure, power heads are well... powerful, and cheap. But as you stated, especially in a 360 style tank chords become and eye sore real quick.
you could possibly do something like this but power it off of 2 separate pumps. or.... if you wanted to do something along that gyre flow idea where you get the water moving real good from left to right and then switch it to right to left... you could throw in a servo that automatically flips back and forth every 5-10 min or whatever a good ratio is for achieving that gyre action... You could even power that with two separate pumps too, synchronized as needed. Biggest issue i see with this method is you'll need a pretty beefy pump or two or three or... lol yea... $$$ oh how i envy you.

Well you are partially right. It looks like I will be using 2 pumps. Each one will be running two 1 inch sea swirls. They will be place next to the center overflow and flowing towards the 4 ft ends of the tank. Lower on the overflows I will have 4 Koralias(don't know which sizes yet) hooked up on their wave maker and that should keep everything in the water column. Instead of having 3 drains I am only going to be using two drains and use the center drain as a dry chamber. That way I can run all my cords through it and no cords will be exposed and I will have a fully uninterrupted 360 view.

Man Bruh sorry you are having an issue right now. Wish I lived closer I was a plumber for a couple years and could probably help you out. So looking forward to this tank as I am sure you are.;)8) If you need any plumbing help let me know I would be happy to help if I can.

i like that idea, hope the phs never need replaced though cause that would be a ***** to swap out... i keep looking at the wall that my tank is on and thinking... gosh, it's perfect for a 8-10' long tank... /sigh.

Oh, on a side note picked up a 20 long from the same guy i got the hippo from so he's a happy hippo as of now. This is the first time i've ever quarantined a fish and man is the wait killing me and it's not even been a week yet :( oh well... better safe than sorry

Thanks V. Issues are going to come and go. Nothing is perfect in this hobby. Its just a learning phase and prepares you for the next problem if one should occur. I will be sure to hit you up if something comes up.

I will have the rock a decent distance away from the power heads in case I have to perform maintenance or replace them.

QTing is the best thing I have ever done. Yes you have to be patient. I keep my fish in QT atleast a month before I place them in the DT. I make sure they are healthy and disease free. It is worth the wait trust me.

I took out the bulkheads and used some left over acrylic and weldon to cover the holes. Now it needs to cure for the next 48-72 hours. More than likely I will test leak and fill the tank Saturday or Sunday.
