that would look great if he didnt have all that aweful looking equipment just sitting right there! it would look great with seahorses but im sure going about making or purchasing one will cost you an arm and a leg.

I love the fact that he almost set his house on fire because of the light reflection!

I'm not sure on price but as soon as I move I'm getting one. I'm thinking about having it overflow like a zeroedge tank. What do guys you think?

it would be difficult, there would be alot of splashing and spilling because the glass is not just straight. the zeroedge is carefully manufactured so when the water overflows over it is still clear and you can see through to the inhabitants, i think with a large bowl like this the water flow would be too rough to clearly see any of the inhabitants inside the bowl. also the stand would have to be much wider than the tank to account for splashing water.

Being the bowl shape, the water would actually flow off the edge of the tank much more effectively than that of a Zero-edge aquarium. When the walls are verticle, water flows off the edge and splashes down to the overflow drain area. I tested a glass bowl (3 quarts - Walmart decoration/fake plants area) and it does a much better job of water quietly overflowing than a box would.

Being curved, water flows over the lip of the bowl and follows the outside curve. I tell you, it looks awesome, and it very quiet. I didn't do the build yet though as with a small volume it will have evaporation problems (setting up an ato would resolve this but Iam worried about aestheitcs). I found a larger bowl that is 5g and I am considering doing it sometime in the future.

If you did it with these 115g bowls, I would love to see that build.
