    Hey all,

I am thinking about starting to add fish to my reef in the coming weeks and am looking for some opinions. My tank is a 60 gallon rimless cube. Its almost 3 months old and I currently have some LPS corals and a cuc. I will need to get fish that will work in a topless tank, wont touch my corals, wont destroy my dsb, and will work in a tank my size. Furthermore, since I won't be be able to get many fish, the ones I do end up getting should have some kind of wow factor. I like a variety of fish including anthias, wrasses, angles, anything colorful really. I do know that i would like to have a pair of clowns, I feel the tank wouldn't be complete without them.

    suggestions would be great

6 line wrasse though very aggressive, if you are interested in wrasses i would suggest getting in contact with evolved, he the wrasse master. i was going to suggest true percula clowns but iv seen mine be hosted by torches and frogs, ultimately bothering the coral.

give it another 3 or 4 months and you can try your luck with a mandarine. most damsels if im correct can live in smaller water volumes and are reef safe.

liveaquaria.com is a decent place to get some ideas and research further from there.

I fully agree regarding the six line. I run a hybrid 55 reef and my wrasse is a show stopper. Colorful, playful, and useful. I have mated P-clowns and he makes them seem boring. He constantly is hunting, searching and exploring. Great fish.

You could add a dwarf angel but would be taking a chance,it may nip lps or sps corals. If you would like something blue a Azures Damsel could be a good choice. They don't grow to be very large or aggressive. The yellow watchman is a great fish and is a low maintenance bottom/rock dweller. It also has some character and good color.Midas blenny is another one with tons of character but they can be jumpers. If you could add a screen top it would give you a lot more options such as the midas and many colorful wrasses.

I wouldn't recommend getting wrasses unless you're going to put a screen on top... IME they can't resist carpet surfing.

speaking of^^......:) I just have one thought, if you want to spend some money - why not look at getting a pair of designer clowns - there are some seriously beautiful ones out there!

Yellow Watchman goby/Pistol shrimp? Colorful, sticks to bottom, symbiotic wow factor.

+1; not a chance a wrasse will stay in an open top tank.

Gobies are jumpers as well. Not for open top tanks.

Too many stories of clowns jumping out of open tops for me to recommend these either :(

Throw a mesh top on there and now you have some options...
