You would be harder pressed to find something that would matter than one that won't. You won't have the ring in the water long enough for it to wear off in the water so it's not going to matter what you choose. Any of the primary heavy metals will be fine. Gold, Silver, Platinum, or Rhodium (the covering used to make most white golds) are all fine. Even all the unique rings are fine, Tungsten, Palladium, Cobalt or Titanium all are sometimes used and won't cause trouble either.

Oh by the way. You are totally out kicking your coverage with that one! Good job!

I wear a titanium wedding band and another ring made of surgical stainless. When in the Marine Corps I put the titanium band in a ten inch vice and using a cheater bar I tried to bend it (as a torture test) It is still a perfect circle and at less then $50 it was a great deal.

That's good to know. I'm on my third band because I keep bending them at work. Same wife.

I wear a damascus stainless steel band with a gold inlay. Super strong, but not brittle like tungsten and other rings. Check out Andrew Nyce rings, pretty cool stuff.

I'm getting one made using an old Japanese technique called Makume-Gane. It's layered fine metals that take on the look of wood grain as the layers are removed.
