Its very simple to program anyways, putting it on a PC would make it very slightly easier to program. I have had no issues with programing.

Well knowing DA it might take a while for any pc programing,BUT once you program your first pump, light etc(with the head unit) its all a joke after that.you will find your self whipping through the buttons real quick..I think it cant get much easier than they have already made it..8) Deff a good investment for the money spent IMO...

I mentioned nothing about wireless. No controller is wireless. Wait till it's time to do a firmware update on there - you have to disconnect piece by piece and flash each by hooking it up directly to your computer. You will not be able to program from your computer either, unless you put a computer in your fish room and directly connect it. Wait - you also have to wait for myReef to come out - and DA can't give any idea of when that will really be.

I was debating whether or not to go with Neptune or DA - and the Apex has everything over the RKE / RKL, hands down.

I have already upgraded, once, and I'm looking forward to the next upgrade.... I do carry my laptop out to the equipment room to quickly take care of the necessary changes... I have not found it to be inconvenient or difficult...

It is nice having a controller which allows you to relax in the evening with your feet on the desk and evaluate the graphs:

For example ORP chart with Ozone set at 50% capacity

...vs. Ozone set at 30% capacity...

Not sure, but I think I like the lower setting on the ozone generator as it appears to have more "on time"

Don't get me wrong, I'm not un-aware of DA's short comings, just dont consider them of sufficient reason to reject their controllers...

Cool. I can view all my graphs on the Apex as well, even on my cell phone. I can also configure the controller, and my tank, from anywhere in the world, from the Apex web page. I can turn devices off and on from my blackberry. I don't have to disconnect anything from my tank or do any resets on the controller to do software updates - all that is done through the network. Having to unplug and flash each piece of the controller from a computer is relatively inconvenient for me and I don't care to interrupt the operation of my tank to upgrade a controller. All that leads to every reason for me to reject anything made by DA.

Looks good, I'm glad that you like the Apex...I'll stick with the RKE from DA....
