I am thinking about purchasing a Odyssea 30" black quad (65 W x 2) Compact Fluorescent lighting fixture for my 30 gallon aquarium so i can start a reef tank. my aquariums depth is 15.5 inches. I was wondering would it be ok for most soft corals? and if anyone has had problems with the light before. thanks for the info.

Odysea has had slews of issues not only with their MH fixtures but PC as well.... I personally think that its a waste of money, softies or not.... Would you go out and buy a VCR right now? Are people still buying PS1? PCs will be phased out almost entirely with in the next couple years. Even ESU the king of PC is putting T5 in their MH combo fixtures now instead of PC...

They are energy hogs, inefficient and lamps cost too much and need to be replaced too often...

But hey, I have plenty of used PC fixtures in my storage that you can have for free if you drive to Wisconsin :D
