Update time. Lots of new coral. Been working lots of OT at work, my wonderful wife rewarded me by letting me place an order from YourReef.

My small collection of acros (Red planet, unknown green, and Joe):

You may or may not notice (if you haven't read my other thread) but Cyano is really starting to piss me off. Ive done what I think I should: cut the lights out for a period, cranked up the flow on my wp-10, DRASTICALLY decreased my feedings, chaeto in the fuge. Im really spent; I have no idea what to do next. I was thinking of adding another powerhead or wp-10, but my corals seem really happy with the flow as it is, so Im hesitant to change that.

    Any ideas???

Lost my Acro to STN, probably from a recent water change. I got lazy matching the temps with the new water, and the Acro starting receding after that. Even fragging it in half didn't save it.

But on a better note, my cyano issue is almost cleared! I switched out my old chaeto for some new chaeto. Im pretty sure they are different types. You can see the previous lighter and looser chaeto in the bottom left, with the new darker, tighter chaet in the upper left. This, in addition to tightening up on feedings really helped!

Your Reef is also having a Live Sale that I took advantage of..........lots of really fantastic prices.

This Mummy Eye is my favorite acquisition, small but very pretty:

I also picked up a couple general, $10 Acros and some Zoas......will post pics when they open up a little bit more.

    Updated FTS and Side shot:

Nice corals ninja. Glad to hear about the chaeto. Something I'll keep in mind for the future.

Yeah, as the cyano was getting worse, I noticed the chaeto was doing nothing. So I replaced it. For ten bucks, I can't think of a cheaper fix!

I'm going to post more pics soon. I've got this new Nikon and I really want to get some decent pictures out of it! Going to try the coffee filter trick to set the white balance and see how that goes.

OK, really started playing with the white balance and Im pretty happy with how things look. I think I still have some tinkering, but considering these shots are straight from the camera, with no editing, I'm pretty happy so far!

These photos are WAY more accurate of the colors that the corals have!
