Sorry for the crude dimension drawing, what can I say, I'm not an engineer::)

Very cool crank. Thanks for your efforts and sharing the latest with us. 8)

Did it come with any specs on the pump? I had a hard time tracking down info on the pump it comes with.

    Hey Matt,

The box came with a the skimmer parts, and 1 sheet of paper with a diagram on how it all goes together. No specs... I did pull this up on the HY-2000 pump: " 50 SCFH at 30w for about 550 GPH of water movement"

I haven't had any luck tracking down numbers for the HY-1000 in the LX-1000S skimmer series..

Aye.. thanks. I did find a little on air-suction on premium aquatics and added it to my threads on these new HOBs. That was all I could find.

Can't wait to see it going on your tank!

    Congrats on the skimmer.

Wow, that is poor design on their part. Surprising for that company. I would not buy one simply for the color, regardless of how well it skims.

I have it running on the front of the tank right now for pictures sake. It's pretty impressive. The riser tube diameter is over 2", compared to the 1" ID riser tube of the Remora.

The pump hums a bit more than I would like. Hoping that will settle down in a couple days. Otherwise I'll have to figure something out.

I can tell you for sure as well, that if you have a wide fixture on your tank i.e. A fixture that runs almost fully front to back on legs, that this thing probably won't work out well. it sits pretty high off the top of the tank and shoots out over top of the water line kind of far as well. This means a low wide fixture is going to be shoved towards the front of your tank and might not work.

It barely works in my scenario since my tank is 13" wide and my fixture 8.25" wide. The skimmer forces the light fixture to the front of the tank. I would say that's the bare minimum amount of space you need for this to work (6" behind the tank and at least 4.75" of free lateral space on top of the tank after your fixture is accounted for) Hopes this makes sense ;)

It's pretty loud, I agree. I'll grab some pics tomorrow of it in place.. I figure if I can't get my corals to color up my tank, then my skimmer might as well.

Very nice. Looks promising. Black would have been cool. What is the 1000 rated for?
