Okay, could someone please help me with my issue...
I bought a reef octopus 4 (125 gallon rating) used from someone and i know very little about it. the only other skimmer i have used is a bakpak.
i am wanting to put it in my sump and add baffles/bubble trap.
how deep do i want the water level in my skimmer section? i cant place my baffles until i know how high to make them.
if anyone uses a reef octopus 125 in their sump i would really apreciate any input.
    thanks in advance
    JP

I have an octo nw110 and keep it at 9 inch deep.but the key is having a steady depth for your skimmer to run at tip top function...HTH..

the baffle is for this purpose. it will keep the water level constant.

i thought that if you have it in a chamber before the baffles, like i have in my return, the water stays constant?

This is why I am adding an automatic top off as soon as it gets here. Tired of constantly readjusting the skimmer and adding water by hand.

Okay, is there a certain height the baffle for my füge chamber should be. Considering I set my skimmer section at 8.5.my return will be in the middle and I have my plumbing teed off so half goes to skimmer and half goes to fuge. How high should my fuge baffle be? One foot? Im using a 30 gallon sump. Tank is about 17 inches tall. It's a 30 gal.

Are you going to has a deep sand bed in your fuge? If so, I think 12-14 in would be appropriate but If not 10-12 would suffice
