    sorry, my mistake.

    I saw "but I still cant turn my skimmer on" and immediately commented without reading more, thinking the skimmer pump may have been clogged

    No problem. I appreciate any help. Trying to get this slime remover out of my system so I can start using the skimmer again. It was starting to get some good dark skim mate in there. Got impatient and used the red slime remover. Never again !!!

    Got me on this one,I just read the instructions for that stuff and they state no need to remove carbon and using your skimmer is reccomended but may need adjustment.I'm guessing water changes are your best option.Try changing20% every few days and try your skimmer after a couple of them.On the bright side,with all of the water changes maybe you will get rid of that cyano after all.

    Yeah maybe the red slime will hit the road. Got some Phosguard in the filter now. Trying to get my phosphates down. 0.25 at the moment. Gonna do another WC tomorrow.
