I just purchased my new skimmer yesterday! Got my self a Reef Octopus NW-110, the 2010 addition! Anyone else have this skimmer or could give me some tips?? Its not quite skimming yet, and the water level inside it keeps going up and down constantly, not quite making it to the cup.

    This is it

being in the sump,i would crank it up full bore and let it overflow to get the slime build up going and to get it broke in for a couple days. After that you can start getting it tuned in.No skimmer works perfect new out of the box.Hope that helps.

Must be good if your jealous of it! lol I had a seaclone, which is horrible IMO, so going from one of those to this is pretty confusing to me. How do I set the bubble line??

just turn the red knob in small increments and watch the bubble line move. closing the valve (righty tighty)should raise the bubble line trapping more water in the skimmer, and vice versa to open the valve.

I also just got this skimmer going on my new 46 bf biult. It took about 2 days to break in and now it's working like a champ! I do have the 2010 design with the gate vavle and have my water line about an inch below where the skimmer meets the collection cup. I had to clean out the collection cup after 3 days. Great skimmer. Good luck and enjoy.
