I walked inside to find the skimmer not working very hard. Can someone tell me if I need to take it apart and see if it swallowed something? So far the only unaccounted fish is the flamehawk but I just moved him so he's probably found an excellent hiding spot. Your suggestions are welcome
    Thanks

Is it not running air through it? or no water either? its either the air intake clogged or its the pump. in either case, i would take it apart and clean everything, generally its good to do a full component cleaning each month or atleast every other with skimmers.

it's pumping but barely. I just installed this guy a week ago so unless I got a defective one....likely with my track record....I don't understand.

I would definitely take it off
and remove the pipe work and then force water down it or some thick gauge wire
to check that nothing is obstructing it

I lost a six line wrasse to my skimmer before I modified the overflow box
the fish had managed to get over the small gap and ended up trapped against the needle wheel

so I got little water flow and zero air at all

ok now I'm dumbfounded. The pump is working, all lines are clear and I started with 8 inches of water but it does nothing now. Any help would be appreciated.
