I like mine. It's a HOB and it seems to be well built with a good pump.

I have been looking a few different reef octopus reactors and they seem to be of high quality. Not sure if this is extrapolated to their skimmers though. However they have some pretty innovative designs etc if they work.

I have one of their new Diablo Dc skimmers. Compared to my previous skimmers the Diablo is the quietest, most stable, easiest to adjust, and best build quality.

If you have a light in your fuge make sure you have a model that can be taken apart at the base. You will have coralline algae growth sooner or later. As you may know its hard to get rid of. I do not enjoy soaking since it leaves the tank without a skimmer for a few hours. Some of their models do not come apart at the base. I do think they are good skimmers for the money though. The best word to describe Reef Octopus brand is "Value". You cant go wrong getting their skimmers. That said there are better skimmers on the market. I went through 2 upgrades since then.

I have a Vertex Omega at the moment which I would rate an 8 out of 10. If I had to upgrade again I'd go with a Bubble King.

i have a Reef Octopus Diablo in-sump skimmer and like it quite a bit.

it replaced a CoraLife 125 that gave me nothing but problems.

it skims nicely, the pump is a tad loud, but it works well.

I had the HOB version BH-1000 on my 55 when it was up. Worked great. A tad noisy, but once I got it dialed in it just ran like a charm for over a year.

I have the same and I like it. It's the only skimmer I've ever had though, so I can't compare it to anything. It's a little bit noisy but it isn't an annoying sound. Doesn't bother me at all!

I do recall thinking that the instructions were probably translated 403 times before being put into English, I had A LOT of problems trying to figure them out. Fortunately though there isn't much to it so you can figure it out by picture if you have issues with the instructions like I did!
