What kind of lighting were you looking into, T5, MH, LED? That will help in finding you a fixture :)

And yes, I will be selling my 55, but empty so no live rock, sand, or livestock/corals. You would still need all the accessories (RO/DI, refractometer, test kits, foods, nets, etc).

What size tank? Feel free to post or pm me the details to help determine if it is a good deal or not.

    Ahem... :D

Mr. Bill's Budget 29H Reef Tank

While I agree it may not win a "Tank of the Month" award, that was never a part of my agenda. My plan, and the purpose for this tank, was to make reefkeeping simple, inexpensive, and easy. With that I have fully succeeded...

I will kinda reclama myself and add a disclaimer though. While budget reefing is more than completely possible it must still be done intelligently. If you just hop on ebay and where ever and look for the absolute bottom rung cheapest priced whatever then yeah your flirting with problems. There are still lots of decent beginner budget equipment out there that will preform just fine. SCA skimmers (new sponsor) used to get a bad rep for being an ebay skimmer. I have one preforms just as good as the reef oct I used to have. Odyssea lights, just fine for beginners, You'll say they arnt for SPS, well neither really is SPS imo. lol. If anything I think it makes a smarter well rounded reef using budget equipment as alot more research goes into it if you wanna be successful.

While reefing has become much more affordable it is still a hobby that does not lend itself well to a "budget".Can it be done?Of course .See above. If you purchase wisely.I would NEVER purchase a used aquarium as it is the most important if for nothing else my peace of mind.(still not failproof)We all know there is no way to tell how much we will actually spend every month but Mr. B's and well actually my own tank run on peanuts.Disasters do happen though and being prepared for that eventuality is important to consider. My advise. Don't get in over your head.;)
