to be honest its a guessing game i have a friend with a copperband in his reef tank and it does nothing to his corals. But i know another guy that put another in his tank and it started eating everything. So i guess its a crap shoot.

Try a yellow pyramid butterfly. They are said to be the only true "reef safe" butterfly. Others have had success with copperbands or longnose butterfly fish in reef tanks as well, though these tend to pick on featherdusters and occasionally on other corals.

Well I checked and here's what drs F&S said for a reef safe butterfly for 50g..

Copperband: Reef compatible - with caution, Difficult care level, Peaceful, 8"
Orange Butterflyfish: Reef compatible - with caution, Difficult care level, Peaceful, 6"
Pakistan Butterflyfish: Reef compatible - with caution, Moderate care level, Peaceful, 7"
Tahitian Butterflyfish: Reef compatible - with caution, moderate, Peaceful, 6"
Mertensii Butterflyfish: reef compatible - with caution, moderate care, 6"

The only other butterflies I saw were non-reef-compatible..

Not he Pakistani. It nips at hard corals. At least in the wild, and should not be kept if you have hard corals in your reef tank.

lol. No problem. Good luck. Most seem to be reef compatible only with caution.. ;)
