I am working with a friend who is using PVC to reinforce his aquascape but does not want to see the PVC (white). He is also using eggcrate and would like to paint that as well. I am not aware of what he can use (brand) does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

Krylon fusion is a safe paint. it does wear down though. my buddy has a urchin and mexican turbo snails and they tore up the paint on his pvc and overflow box. there is little spots of paint left on these things. so ya you can use it but somethings may eat right through it.

Since it's outside, anything you want but I still use Krylon Fusion. For the best bond take some fine grit sandpaper and rough up the entire area you want to paint. Clean it with alcohol or mineral spirits and good to go.

For the back, you literally can use anything. Paint the outside. There is no need to scuff it up. If you want to remove the paint at a later date,a razor blade works well, but that wouldn't be as easy if you painted it.

Also, if you scuff up the back of the glass, you will see that through the glass.

I guess if you painted the inside of the tank you could scuff it up ( I wouldn't), but I have only seen people paint the outside of the back.
