reef safe plumbers putty?

    ...maybe because OP was using silicone to glue PVC together?

    No idea why I have so many leaks probably cheap chinese made parts.or mabe there was slight differences in the casting of the pvc. The silicon seems to of worked but im adding new plumbiing in ndii figured id fallow az's advice and go with the stick.

    I'm not 100% sure I'm picturing the exact situation, but I had like 150 tanks with bulkheaded overflows and I used a "self sticking" pressure type tape....worked pretty good if the surfaces were dry....

    ...also i don't want anyone to crucify me for this, but I've used plain ole electrical tape to seal "whatever" after a bulkhead.... I don't think whatever "toxins" are in electrical tape had enuff exposure to the water to matter

    The silicon worked great not even 1 leak :)... I picked up the plumbing stick stuff and use it on my manifold going to leak test it tmo

    There is something that we called Stik Plumbing Putting. I think that is what you needed. That kind of putty is strong, water-proof and safe to use.

    You can use JB weld brand-called Waterweld. It is safe for reef. You can find it in Home Depot.
