I am still doing my research and these are the components that I 'think' I need for the following setup. Please let me know if I am missing anything or if the components that I am looking at are not recommended.

The tank (to be): 150 gallon reef

    Components:

    RODI
    Living Color Refugium
    Chiller
ReefTek Calcuim Reactor (and necessary equipment Co2, PH Controller...)
    Heater
    Protein Skimmer
    Lighting (HQI/T5 @ ~1000 watts total)

Is there anything else that I need to have to run a successful reef? I am not sure about a UV sterilizer... I use one on my current marine tank, but it is not a reef. If I have read correctly, they can reduce nutrients in the water that reefs need... any input on this welcome.

    Thank you,
    Abidan

You may or may not need the chiller... I live in hot and humid Houston and find it unnecessary. Skimmer is critical important IMO and you should not skimp on this.

You will also need PowerHeads for extra flow depending on how you setup your plumbing.

The reactor... if this is your first go at reef, I'd wait on this... it won't be necessary until your tank is heavily stocked in coral...

But really, I'm just bumping this for you.

Thank you, I appreciate that... I am assuming that I will need the chiller because it will have ~ 1200 watts of lights in a canopy. My current marine has 265w in a canopy and I have heat issues.

What about Kalkwasser Stirrers? And do you all use UVs with reef tanks?
