So it's been awhile with no updates. I had been without a job for some time, and found employment at the end of September. Unfortunately in the trades--almost all jobs have a beginning and end. In this case, last week was the end, so I find myself again with some time on my hands.

I picked up a Banggai cardinal a few weeks ago and he's been in the tank and doing pretty well. Here are some pics of the tank and sump. I also got a 150W DE halide pendant which I'm deciding how best to mount.

I continue to be most amazed at how absolutely silent the system is.

    Enjoy.

    Thanks, montalvos6!

I've wired the halide and confirmed its operation with my old Coralife 150W magnetic ballast. I'm thinking I'll bend some 1/2" electrical pipe (EMT) and suspend the fixture from jack chain using the piping.

Easier photographed than described. Pics to come. :)

Yes, Steve. BB this time around. I'd be lying if I said I was testing. I've only tested the salinity. I do need to get on the big 3 though, especially since I'm looking for coralline growth before adding corals. I'll keep all posted.

I have a tank with the same dimensions that I want to turn into a ZOO and Chalice collection. Do you reccomend the 150 halide?

Thanks for the update on the system and how silent the bean style overflow is.
I can't wait to get my big tank up and running, with that system.

    thanks!

The 150W isn't burning on top of the tank yet, but if you're asking for an opinion, I'd think it'd be ample for your plans.

It's amazing, SkyFire. I've got to look at the surface of the water to confirm the thing is actually running.
