    I was wondering if any of you have pronounced certain "reef" things a certain way only to find it's not really pronounced that way.

    For example I used to say:

    Coraline (Coral-line) but then I've heard it's really (Coral-lean)

    or

    Refractometer (Refracto-meter) but I've heard it's (Re-frac-tom-eter)

    I just thought it was funny, sorry I'm bored :)

    Cheato- i always say cheeto. no matter what people say i will say it that way haha

    ka-eto ( i think)

    Mangroves--- ive always said===>> man-groove-s lol
    chaeto ive always said ==>> cha- eto
    Refugium ive always said ===> FUGE. ( this is thanks to 3reef lol) i didnt know it was refugium and one time when i was talking to my LFS about getting one he was like.... you want to order a what?
    and i cant remember somethings but im pretty sure i have tons more;D

    I've heard a lot.

    Chaetomorpha called (chee to morph a) when it should be (kay to morph uh)
    Acropora called (ac ro pour a) when it should be (a crop or uh)
    Coralline is typically (cor al lin) as opposed to (cor al lean)
    Hydrometer called (hy dro mete er) instead of (hy drom et er)
    Caulerpa called (cal loop ra) instead of (cal erp a)
    Wrasse called (wrass ee) instead of just (wrasse)

    those are just a few

    that only happens when im talking to someone who doesnt know what an ocellaris clown is.. I usually end up saying... ugh.. "nemo".:p

    thx for those inwall & elwes, oh this makes so much sense on the cheato, I'm always asking about it at my LFS and they look at me like I'm crazy, they say go to the supermarket for cheetos, hah
