    i was wondering if my filtration is good enough for a reef tank? ive got two sea anenomies and one carpet. they are doing good. my filtration is two big hang on back filters and a uv sterilizer. and alot of live rock. good lighting..

    Live rock should be your primary filtration in a reef tank. The main thing you're missing is a protein skimmer.

    Arent you having the ICK issue also? How old is your tank?

    Depending on what you want to keep and what you consider "good lights" you should be fine to keep corals. You don't really need a protein skimmer if you keep up on your water changes.

    well i got rid of my problem fish! so the ick problem im working on. i dont have any corals yet. ive heard i need a potien skimmer. some say yes some say no. which is it? to answer your question 1.oreef, ive got a 55 gal crushed coral 30lbs live rock maybe more, two hanging filters on back[they are big] uv srelizer two clowns one damsel one fire fish two anemones one carpet[sadleback] cleaner shrimp[2] emaael crab snals. do corals get ick?

    I hate to say it, but it is up to you if you want a protein skimmer or not. They do help with filtration and can be very beneficial.

    what kind of lights do you have?on a 55g I would have a skimmer,and the carpet anem should be on sand not crushed coral they also get huge fast so you might want to trade it in soon.how long has your tank been cycled ?
