Trust me when I tel you don't ever drink tap water when visiting Las Vegas. We have a whole house RO system which is at 050ppm when filters are fresh. Then the RO di covers the tank. But from a garden hose it is pushing close to 600.

Your water is not that bad compared to Phoenix at 500-1600 depending on what part of the Valley you are in. If we could get only Colorado River water it wouldn't be so bad but add the Salt River in and it goes sky high.
I would suggest getting your replacements, especially membranes and DI resins here:
SpectraPure Customer Appreciation SALE! 20% - 50% off

Spectrapure units are built here in AZ specifically for southwestern waters. Their DI resins are custom hand blended for our unique needs and nothing else comes close. My tap exceeds 830 TDS, I get between 5 and 6 TDS from RO only and 0 from DI with over 1500 gallons per DI cartridge refill. The prefilter is their 0.2 micron ZetaZorb and the carbon is their 0.5 micron.
I had tried every thing imaginable up until buying my first MaxCap unit and there is no comparison!

There is no EPA MCL for TDS, 500 is a guideline but is not enforceable, if it were most of the southwest and west coast would be in violation. TDS is considered an Asthetic and not a health risk since it is not a measure of anything in particular.

BTW my sister and mother both live in Henderson! My sister is the cage manager at a small family run casino which I forget the name of.

I see nothing in my post about being against the law or enforceable i was merely stating there guide lines that any thing over 500 is in there opinion not safe, and yes it dos not test for anything in particular but it dos not exclude any thing either.

500 is the max drinking water limit set by the EPA.

Don't get excited. EPA does not say its not safe, if they did they would have to come up with a MCL and enforce it. 500 is a guideline set years and years ago that really means nothing. In todays world with groundwater recharge, runoff and things the TDS is going up all over. Its no big deal in most cases.
