I am starting a new reef after a year or so away from saltwater reef keeping. I sold my first when my wife and I purchased our home. Didnt want to move it but now I wish I would have.

It is a 125 braceless 60x26x18. Starphire glass and one built in overflow. Bought it used off of a guy who upgraded to a 150 in-wall reef. Got a 55 gallon for a sump that I will build myself next week when I get some glass cut. The sump is a lil snug in the stand only 2 inches of room on either side of the sump and about 7 inches from top of sump to top of the doors in the stand. The hood that came with the tank is too short and my buddy is going to build a new one for me. (owes me for some computer work I did for him) Plan on building 2 400w MH and 2 VHOs for lighting and need them to be higher off the top.

I have got my skimmer and pump this week Reef Octopus 150 and MAG 18 for return. I will be getting some pvc this weekend but wont start plumbing til next week. Pics arent much everything is still in the middle of the kitchen making the Ms. very unhappy. LoL...

Awesome start. Good size sump for the tank, and awesome choice of lighting. You should be able to keep anything you want under those, and melt any pesky xenia that gets in.

Had my glass baffles cut for my sump and unfortunately I didnt measure right and they are 1/8 of an inch too wide. Got home and the glass shop is closed now. Not sure if they can cut that short without chipping so may have to get new ones 1/8 narrower. Will find out tomorrow.

The stand is very nice and super heavy. Maple wood and it will be tough matching the new canopy to the stand. Stand is made kinda weathered looking.

Very nice stand, love that rich wood grain look im jealous. The stand that came with my set up is a 90's style formica thing. Some like it but for me nothing beats the natural craftsmanship of fine woods. Its classy and timeless. Im curious about the wood though, do you know what kind it is? Must be as strong as it is beautiful and one day, a lonnng time from now, hopefully i can take a stab at building a stand like yours, design is great as it maximizes room beneath.

Ahh, just read the posts above hehe. Maple is nice indeed.

Small update. Added the baffles to my sump/refuge and got the tank on the stand now as well. Will start plumbing this week and going to start looking for a good RO/DI unit. Will add pics when plumbing is done.
