I'm thinking about purchasing a Dart pump by ReeFlo. I understand that theres a "built in" 1 micron sock filter in these units?
This pump will run 2-90g tanks plus accessories. I know alot of you are ReeFlo fans. Any comments would be helpful.
    Thanks!!

That is the first I have heard of a filter for the pumps. I have 3x Hammerheads and none of them have any type of filtering device in the pump head. I have had these apart and changed seals a few times but you might want to e-mail Reeflo and ask them. They have always been real helpful to me. Reeflo Pumps

I would just make sure you are over sizing your pump to account for head loss since you are going to split into two tanks and run equipment.

Two weeks ago I pulled my Dart apart to clean out a bunch of shells that got sucked into it and plugged up the impeller...I would liked to have seen a filter...but alas, there is not one there... So, I went and changed the inlet strainers in my closed loop to keep more of the shells (hermits and snails) out of the closed loop suctions...

I haven't seen filters in mine. Great pump and super quiet.

We have many, many Reeflo pumps, and none of them have any type of built in "filter"...

Dang!! I've spent all morning trying to find that link!!! Anyway, good to hear.

I was hoping you'd see this Otty. The 2 tanks will have about 6ft each of head lift, so I'm probably going to go with a barracuda.

Where did you purchase yours from?
