Thanks Steve! I was worried when I put it in there but it seems to be doing well. One of the branches seem to be getting thicker and it looks like it's growing onto the rocks but probably just wishful thinking. lol

Ahhh! I was looking in my tank tonight and noticed my Coral Banded is missing his right claw arm! :( He just molted the other night and had them both then so I wonder what happened. I'm pretty sure it'll grow back but it bums me cuz he was my first purchase after the CUC and has been the undisputed welter wieght champeen of the reef for 6 months.

In a reef based rumble, my money would still be on the 1 armed Coral Banded

as you predict reef monkey , maybe not on next molt, but certainly on future molts
it will be back to the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world

    lets get rrrrrrrrrready to rumble

LOL My poor CB shrimp! His missing claw arm came back after this molt but it's half the size of the other one and looks all gimpy! He must have just molted too because he's in his favorite hang upside down spot and not out looking for grub. I noticed my peppermint molted as well. Wonder if it has to do with the fuge overflow that caused the ato to run the sg down to 1.021 which forced me to do basically a 50% w/c. ??

the claw will get larger on next molt so its a positive sign its grown back on this one

SG drop 1.021 isnt that drastic, some keep reefs at these lower SGs on a full time basis admittedly they wouldnt want it to drop to that in double quick time.

how did your coral handle it? any other issues since this happened?

1.021 isn't that bad true that and I wasn't ever concerned by it other than getting it back up to 1.025. Everything in the tank was life as normal except the Armor of God which had been ill but was getting better relapsed. Coincidence? IDK but doubt it. A huge patch of GSP hasn't opened since then either and some corallin, especially that on my glass bleached a little.
The big w/c brought me up to 1.024 but I've been fighting the last point. I don't want to over do it. I've been mixing a cup of salt to a gallon r/o. This gives a sg of 1.040. Then I've been added in it 3 additions to the sump for the past two days. I've got the overall sg back up to 1.0245. It's probably overkill on the work side for me but I dont care.

    7 Months Today!!

My reef has seen it's 7th month come and go. So many changes have taken place with most of them being for the better. The wreck mentioned in the above post not only caused my Armor of Gods to relapse but apparently my torch couldn't handle the drastic change either and is now no longer in the tank. That was my first LPS loss.
I really wish I could find the file with the pics of this tank taken on day 1. It's unbelievable what 7 months has done and now I'm anxious to see what the next five will bring! ;D

Thanks. I'm pretty proud of it. It's almost full now and I don't know what I'll be doing then. A bigger one for sure but that'll be awhile.
I think I'm going to add a red ball sponge with encrusting zoanthids in the next couple weeks. Got some coral from RE coming in tomorrow. I need more SPS LOL.
