    If you have a tank full of live rock I'm not sure what benefit you would get from this. It could be usefull potentially for a QT or something though maybe.

    From what I understood, it can (as I will) be used as filter media replacing the Blue bonded pre-filter for my wet/dry in the sump. You end up saving money not having to buy the media you cut and put in the drip tray. Then there is the added benefit of the extra bacteria base plus removing particulates.

    let me know how that works unclejed. i use the foam filter pads in my sump. if this is more effective in regards to cost and filtration , id give it a go also. always good to see a guinea pig. :)

    Yes, I like change and am always willing to try things if the science and logic are there. In the innovative spirit, I have taken some "Poly Filter " pad and cut into squares of varying sizes but none bigger than 3" X 3" and put them in a fluidized reactor. No pump, just put it under the Bio ball chamber in the sump. I will let you (all) know how that works out.
